This is a Fire door we fitted in the Oxfordshire area. We replaced a UPVC door, which is against fire regulations in flats and fitted a half hour fire check door, building a complete new frame and fitting intumescent strips to the door, the door was fitted on 3 x CCE rated fire hinges and had an Egress ERA British Standard escape lock fitted, with a Fire secure letter box.

When fire doors are installed, they create a fire break which delays the fire from spreading from one area to another, the doors give time for the occupants to flee the premises without the fire spreading through the door, the time permitted by law is a minimum of 30 minutes, the solid cor fire doors we fit follow this time line.
